Sometimes I am asked, what is the difference between counseling and life coaching? While there can be overlap between the two disciplines, life coaching primarily focus’ on identifying where a client is currently at in their life and where they want to go. This is much more goal and future focused, where counseling tends to look into one’s past to help them understand what has caused them to be where they are at.
In my practice I often use both counseling and life coaching skills, and for most of my clients they appreciate this flexibility and broader scope of practice. When it comes to life coaching the process can often be very enjoyable as it allows clients to dream, set and achieve goals, and create a life that is meaningful. As a Nationally Certified Life Coach with both the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Addiction Academy, I can come beside you and assist you in discovering the steps you need to take to create the life you desire.
