A New Day 4 you can also mean finding your dream job and/or purpose in life. Do you find yourself in a situation where you feel stuck in a rut, or feel you’re lacking purpose or goals in your life? I have helped many individuals over the years to discover their talents, interests, and abilities to fulfill rewarding careers, academic pursuits and purpose in life.
Career:
Learn about and/or reevaluate self–values, skills, personality, and interests (look at one or all areas); may include career assessments: Myers Briggs, Strong Interests, and/or other assessments depending on client needs
Provide assessment in Myers Briggs and Strong Interest career assessments – extra fees to take and interpret assessments; review, interpret and provide results
Identify occupational alternatives – provide resources and tools to research information in considering these alternatives
Make tentative career choice – coaching for information interview , and/or other options to further identify career choice
Resume coaching that includes guidance, brainstorming, coaching and ongoing review
Interview follow-ups and reviews
Make educational choices towards your career choice if deemed needed
Academic:
Identify schools or training programs that are accredited and offer the major choice
Review requirements for that school – general education and major requirements
Provide necessary resources for scholarships, veterans, financial aid, and many others
Interpret prior transcripts from other schools
Evaluate AP or other scores taken from high school or other schools
Discuss courses needed and a plan of action
About Robin
I am Robin Sawyer, Co-Director of A New Day 4 You. I have over 30 years’ experience as a counselor working at various educational institutions. As a counselor and a professor I have taught Career Planning & Academic Success courses, provided individual career, academic, guidance and personal counseling during my career in higher education. With that experience and specialized training, I’ve also utilized it to help clients on an individual basis to explore and discover new opportunities for their career and academic pursuits.
I am a National Certified Counselor and I hold the following credentials:
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology – ASU
Master’s Degree in Educational Counselor - CSULA
Career Certification - CSUC
Certification in Myers Briggs & Strong Interest Inventory
